I mean during the height of the beginning of the demonstrations after October 7, French Muslim demonstrators were not talking to reporters saying "because Jews own all the media." There's two reasons I'm not a fan of using the word "genocide" to describe the war crimes in Gaza. 

1. 50,000 people in over a year is a war crime but when compared to real genocides like Rawanda (at least 800,000 people in just 100 days) or the Holocaust (hundreds of thousands per month at the peak) it is absurd to call what's happening in Gaza genocide. War crimes are bad enough. There's no reason to exaggerate when the truth is bad enough. 

2. It leads to stuff like this. It seems evident to me the term has become especially popular to use against Israel because it is weaponizing the worst crime ever done to Jews against them. And the very clear next logical leap is that the Holocaust didn't even really happen.

I differ with you only in your characterization of this as an "accident", "unintentional", "an irony" or anything such. Zionism giving rise to antisemitism (or Jew hatred as I prefer to call it) is not a bug, it is a feature. Zionists have *always* collaborated with Jew haters in Europe and elsewhere, going back to Theodore Herzl, because essentially they have the same goals.

Zionism did not even originate among Jews. It was an idea that sprang up first among Puritans and other Christians in Europe who saw Jews as an alien race and wanted them cleansed from Europe. The early Jewish fathers of Zionism shared that goal, partly as part of the larger movement towards romantic nationalism and partly as a sort of "Jewish Power" movement. A rival Jewish power movement, the Bundists, sought to improve the standing and conditions of the Jewish working class by extracting concessions from the European power establishment and owner class, which had traditionally oppressed Jews. Zionists obviously took it in another direction - give us a place far away to call our home and concede nothing. They won support from Jew haters and the powerful in Europe who didn't want to concede to the Bundists or any segment of the working class.

So it's no accident what we see today, the ADL making excuses for Musk's Nazi salute or praising Elise Stefanik, who previously trafficked in Great Replacement theory. Nor is it an accident that Benjamin Netanyahu's party Likud recently joined PatriotsEU (a coalition of European far-right parties) as an observer member. PatriotsEU has among its membership many avowed Jew haters.

Zionists want diaspora Jews to be fearful, and feeding into Jew hatred, claiming to perpetrate a genocide in the name of all Jews supports this goal. They want to back diaspora Jews into a corner, believing they will have no choice but to support Israel, right or wrong. That's how you get people like Joe Biden saying "if it weren't for Israel, no Jew in the US would be safe" which is a pretty disgusting thing to say as a POTUS. It's basically saying "Jews don't belong here and without Israel they'd have no standing anywhere".

don't be. As an ex-Israeli Jew living outside Israel for over a decade, I promise you things are not nearly as scary as Israeli Zionist media makes them it to be. Actually, Israel is less safe for Jews then most other countries. Every time I speak with people I know from there they are shocked to hear that I openly identify here (Germanu) as Jewish and speak Hebrew - in their minds Europe is "full of Muslims who hate Jews", because that's what they hear in the news. It's a tactic that is employed to prevent Israeli Jews from leaving and essentially materialy contribute to the de-colonization of Palestine.
